LEGO Star Wars Advent: Day 24 – The King

photo 1-14 photo 2-14 photo 3-14

And on the final day of the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar, we have Jango Fett. In a Santa costume.

Jango Fett being a bounty hunter is ultimately in it for himself. What do you need from him? Pay enough and you’ll get that. His loyalties shift depending on the money. Continue reading

LEGO Star Wars Advent: Day 23 – Sleigh Packs Blast Are You Listening

photo 1-13 photo 2-13 photo 3-13

Nearing the end of the calendar, drawing closer to celebrating the birth of Jesus. To heighten the anticipation we have…a jetpack powered sleigh. Of course.

Yes, it’s LEGO. Yes, it’s Star Wars. Yes, it’s supposed to be a bit ridiculous. But one has to be careful not to lose sight of why we actually celebrate Christmas. I should rephrase that. One has to be careful not to forget why Christmas is a holiday. The decorations and traditions are fun, and it can be amusing to see what people add a dash of Christmas to this time of year to make a part of the festivities. (Much like LEGO and Star Wars.) LEGO Star Wars Advent: Day 22 – What Child Is This

photo 1-11 photo 2-11 photo 3-11

One of the coolest characters in the Star Wars Universe comes today, but as a child. It’s Boba Fett. One of the interesting details from Attack of the Clones was Jango Fett wanting to raise one of the clones as his own child. The Clones were well-trained, but I think many would say none could come close to the prowess and skill of Boba Fett.

Boba would continue to learn and train after his father’s death, but what Jango instilled in him laid a foundation for his life. The importance of fathers. They wield such influence on their children’s lives whether they intend to or not. Continue reading

LEGO Star Wars Advent: Day 21 – Free At Last

photo 1-10 photo 2-10 photo 3-10

Happy first day of winter. Today we have Slave I, Jango Fett’s ship. It was the precursor to Boba Fett’s Slave II that we all know so well from The Empire Strikes Back. Slave I is from Attack of the Clones, and was part of an epic battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi. Continue reading

LEGO Star Wars Advent: Day 20 – War & Peace

photo 1-9 photo 2-9 photo 3-9

The 20th day, and today we have a Jedi Starfighter. Obviously, a lot of Jedi flew these, but from Attack of the Clones we saw Obi-Wan Kenobi fly one when giving chase to Jango and Boba Fett. Many of the Jedi Starfighters were colored in a red and white scheme signifying the diplomatic immunity the Jedi had. The starfighters also showed the evolution of the Jedi toward a more militaristic approach, which put them at odds with their ideals of keeping the peace. Continue reading

LEGO Star Wars Advent: Day 19 – Separation No More

photo 1-8 photo 2-8 photo 3-8

19. If this were a Stephen King influenced calendar, this would be a huge day. Instead, we will discuss the Separatist Shuttle. They were in all of the prequel movies. It was a short-range shuttle often used by high ranking officials.

They had a distinct design with their landing gear, making it possible to only land on hard ground. The reason for this was due to individuals not willing to deal with the poor or underdeveloped worlds. Sounds like many of us. Continue reading
